Frostpunk 2 Delayed to September 20th

11 bit studios has pushed the release back for new features that players "deserve to see in-game on day one" instead of a post-launch patch.

Frostpunk 2

Roughly a month before its launch on PC, 11 bit studios has delayed Frostpunk 2 to September 20th. In a new Steam Community post, the development team thanked fans for their feedback on the beta, but also noted the “many keen observations on areas we could improve or add to the final game.”

“Based on the surveys we received from you after playing, the average rating you gave the beta was 8 out of 10. We’re super grateful for that! At the same time, the beta was only a small slice of a work-in-progress, still-growing game.

“While our backlog is plentiful, the beta was an opportunity for us to listen to what you enjoyed and what hasn’t quite landed yet. This allowed us to prioritize things better and bring to the front the features and modifications we were already working on (we hope!) you’ll enjoy the most. ”

Of course, to “properly” do justice to the feedback and prioritize features it wants to add, the developer needs more time. Nevertheless, it believes the new features are “something you deserve to see in-game on day one, not in a patch added after the release.”

Set 30 years after the first game, where the world suffered a catastrophic event bringing eternal winter, Frostpunk 2 sees The City continuing to survive. However, human nature being what it is, various factions have emerged to push its development and administration in different, often opposed directions. As the Steward, it’s your job to manage it all.

In terms of scale, it’s certainly larger than its predecessor, with time passing in weeks and months instead of hours and days. Players can also construct entire districts devoted to different purposes. Stay tuned for more details on the new planned features shortly.
