FTL: Faster Than Light developer Subset Games has finally dated it’s next title Into The Breach, which is a lot sooner than any of us thought. It’s out on February 27th for PC via Steam, GOG and the Humble Store as per the developer on Twitter.

Into The Breach has a story that’s very reminiscent of Pacific Rim (or any giant robot vs. giant monster story really). The Earth is threatened by giant alien creatures from just beneath the surface and giant mechs from the future must be used to stop them. You can customize said mechs and engage enemies in turn-based combat.

However, each time the world is saved, a new challenge will be randomly generated. If you fail , it’s possible to send reinforcements back in time to turn things around (which is probably the longer form of progression in the rogue-lite system). Regardless, if the challenges are as intriguing as FTL, then Into The Breach could be another classic. What are your thoughts on the game? Let us know below.
