Insomniac Games’ FUSE is finally readying for release. As the first title after going multi-platform and separating from Sony – with EA publishing the game – FUSE is a third person shooter with cooperative elements that follows Overstrike Nine as they investigate a government conspiracy surrounding a mysterious new energy source.
Naturally, things get hairy as a shadowy opposing force appears to claim the energy for themselves.
The one thing that sets FUSE apart from the crowded market of other first person and third person shooters are its cooperative elements. Up to four players can take on specific roles and firearms, or a single-player can effectively hop back and forth, using the different abilities of each team member to their advantage. Thankfully, there looks to be enough destruction and over-the-top action to fill the gaps.
FUSE is slated to release on May 28th in North America and May 31st in Europe for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
