July isn’t half over, but plans are already underway for Gamescom 2026. Opening Night Live returns as usual, but you can also look forward to the next iteration of the Future Games Show.
As revealed by GamesRadar, it will take place on August 26th. Timings have yet to be revealed, but it promises new trailers, deep dives with developers and even some world premieres. Following the event, FGS Live from Gamescom will begin, offering more announcements and interviews from the trade fair.
It culminates on August 30th with FGS Best of Gamescom, highlighting the biggest reveals while offering booth tours and interviews. Considering how jam-packed the show’s Summer Showcase turned out to be, the Gamescom edition should be an exciting proposition.
Gamescom 2026 takes place from August 26th to August 30th, and following the demise of E3, it’s arguably one of the biggest international trade fairs in gaming. While the full list of exhibitors has yet to be announced, you can expect Xbox’s own showcase and FanFest, while attendees can go hands-on with Gears of War: E-Day‘s campaign.
Of course, you can likely expect to see Capcom, Square Enix, and so on. However, it seems PlayStation won’t be attending the show, per German B2B portal Gameswirtschaft, potentially to avoid backlash from its recent decision to stop producing discs for new titles from January 2028 onwards.
