Gabe Newell who owns more than 50% of Valve is worth more than $1.5 billion, according to Forbes. Valve is worth $3 billion, so you can probably come to the conclusion yourself.
Valve was founded in 1996 by Gabe Newell, and has come a long way after having recently shipped Portal 2. Valve’s Steam, a digital distribution platform is very successful and is the reason behind these profits.
Newell was already a millionaire after he left Microsoft, and now he’s worth billions. Talk about a transformation.
