Gameforge to publish mobile games

Posted By | On 06th, Aug. 2012

Gameforge is a German published who has announced that they will be publishing mobile games from now on. They have developed their own in-house engine and have already shipped three RPGs for iOS, Android and Windows Phone 7 platforms.

“Given the increasing extent users enjoy games on their mobile devices, it is a strategic decision for games publishers to be present in that field. Our first mobile games for smartphones were a field experiment for us, to see how the game mechanics of our successful web games can be transferred particularly to smartphones,” says CEO AlexanderRösner about the entry of Gameforge into the world of mobile entertainment.

He added: “Our goal is to give our players access to our games independently from their given device. The success of our first mobile games tells us that we are on the right way into the mobile future.”

They plan to publish at least 10 mobile games this year and expect their division to be profitable bringing in a few million Euros. They are hiring, too.
