Developed By: Ubisoft | Available On: PS4, Xbox One, PC | Read Our Review

assassins creed origins

Just when it was starting to look like the Assassin’s Creed franchise had finally hit a slump it wouldn’t be able to recover from, Origins came along and reminded everyone just how captivating this universe can be when it wants to be. Developed by the same team that made the excellent Black FlagOrigins is a complete re-invention of the series, having turned it into a full-fledged, massive open world action-RPG. Ancient Egypt is a wonderfully realized setting that is full of interesting things to do, the revamped combat is brilliant, and the game is unconcerned with the convoluted narrative threads that bogged down previous games in the series. Assassin’s Creed Origins is still a game that could have done with about a year more of polishing and refinement, but even in its current state, it stands toe to toe with the best experiences this series has had to offer in its ten year lifespan.
