NES Power Glove

Remember the Power Glove? It was one of the very first attempts at motion control for the NES. It was infamously bad- as in, it literally never worked as intended. Still, it looked cool, and it was the most 1980s thing ever. Rad.

Anyway, it looks like that concept may be getting revived soon, in a way that hopefully works this time. A new patent filing has come to light, made by Sony- for a glove controller- and it seems like something like this would be absolutely perfect for the upcoming PlayStation VR.

Now of course, PlayStation VR currently uses the PlayStation Move controllers as its primary input- but while Move controllers are fairly accurate, nothing could be better than 1:1 tracking of the motion of your hands and fingers. Which means that something like this Glove controller might be neat. Could Sony be preparing it for a release, maybe some time after the PlayStation VR itself has launched?
