God of War Trilogy Remake

Remember all those rumors about the original God of War Trilogy getting a remaster? As it turns out, Sony Santa Monica had much bigger plans, confirming that a full remake of all three titles is in the works. Check out the announcement trailer below, complete with Kratos angrily calling out his father, Zeus.

There wasn’t much information beyond the fact that it’s in “very early in development.” The developer also revealed it will be “a while” before it can share further details, but when there’s an update, you can expect it to be suitably massive. TC Carson, the original voice of Kratos from the Greek saga, broke the news, so perhaps he’s returning to record some new dialogue.

God of War debuted in 2005 for the PlayStation 2 and immediately became a massive hit. Alongside extensive critical acclaim, it went on to sell more than 4.6 million units. The sequel, God of War 2, released in 2007 for PS2 and received even more accolades, going on to sell 4.24 million copies in a shorter span.

As for the finale, God of War 3, it launched in 2010 for PS3 and, you guessed it, was very well received – even if many still preferred the second game. How will its brutal combat and epic storytelling translate to PS5 in the remake? We can’t wait to find out.
