One of the first next generation games that got revealed was Godfall. The action RPG got revealed at last year’s The Game Awards, a little taste of the future, if you will. We don’t know a lot about the game, but today we got some new details on it to see what kind of title we’ll be looking at.
Details on Godfall were revealed via the newest issue of the PlayStation Official Magazine UK (issue 174). It is said to have gameplay features that are compared to both Monster Hunter and Dark Souls, where the developers say the combat will reward aggressive play and precise timing, and it will include drops and loots similar to Destiny and Monster Hunter.
The story is said to be influenced by the high fantasy novel series, The Stormlight Archive. In Godfall, you play one of the last of what’s called the Knight’s Order, who are tasked with stopping an undefined world-ending event. You’ll have a choice of 3 preset classes and will include co-op. The four elements of Earth, Wind, Air and Fire are also said to play a big role in the narrative.
Godfall is slated to launch for both the PlayStation 5 and PC as a launch title alongside Sony’s console. There is leaked footage from an older build, if you’re curious to see that.
