Gran Turismo 6 has officially been announced for the PlayStation 3 by Sony and Polyphony Digital at the GT 15th anniversary celebration at the Silverstone Circuit, UK (which is also reportedly included in the game. While it won’t benefit from the next generation power of the PS4, it still looks pretty sweet (and best of all, no Prologue nonsense).
In other news, GT Academy will be returning for its fifth season, and promises to involve even more countries than before. But more than anything else, it also serves as the impetus for the launch of a demo for Gran Turismo 6 in June. The online component will also serve as a strong staring point in the competition for gamers.
Gran Turismo 6 will reportedly feature multi-device compatibility with PlayStation, smartphones, tablets and PCs (whatever that means). It will release exclusively for PlayStation 3 in the fourth quarter of 2013, in time for the Holiday season and the release of the PS4.
