Gran Turismo 7

Polyphony Digital’s simulation racing game Gran Turismo 7 is officially out worldwide for the masses to enjoy- however, it seems Russian audiences are not going to have access to the game.

First pointed out by Eurogamer, it seems Sony quietly pulled the game off of the PlayStation Store in the country, making it unavailable to purchase. Upon a look at the PlayStation Store page of the game in Russia, it now says that the release date is “pending confirmation”.

The removal might not come as a surprise, as a few days ago, the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine urged the big gaming companies like PlayStation and Xbox to stop supporting the Russian market amidst the current Russia-Ukraine crisis.

Sony is yet to formally confirm the removal or make a public statement about the same, though it is, of course, one of several companies in the industry that has taken similar steps to suspend operations in Russia.
