Most have assumed for a while now that Sony will be unveiling a new Gran Turismo game soon, and that it’ll be an early title for the upcoming PS5, and there might be new evidence (or a possible tease, at the very least) to suggest that that might indeed be the case.

Kaz Yamauchi, CEO of Polyphony Digital and producer of the Gran Turismo series, recently took to Twitter. Replying to PlayStation’s tweet about the PS5 event which will be going live in a few hours, he said that in Japan, it would go live at 5 in the morning, presumably asking people to check it out.

It could mean something, or it could mean nothing at all. There is a chance, though, that it’s the latter. On top of the timing of a possible reveal for a new Gran Turismo game making a lot of sense right now, it’s also worth noting that recently Sony renewed trademarks for Gran Turismo, and the logos of the GT series and developers Polyphony Digital. There’s a likelihood that that’s indicating an upcoming reveal.

Either way, we’ll know for sure on way or another not long from now. The PS5 event will kick off at 1 PM Pacific, so stay tuned for all updates.
