Gran Turismo Sport’s Development Is ‘Only 50% Complete’

Just how do they plan on getting it out on time?

Gran Turismo Sport

When the release date for Gran Turismo Sport was announced yesterday, everybody breathed a sigh of relief- after the protracted development cycles that Gran Turismo games, even the PSP one, suffered in the PS3 era, it was good to see that Polyphony Digital were finally moving back towards releasing their games at semi reasonable intervals- a 2016 release date for Sport would be just three years after 2013’s Gran Turismo 6 for PS3.

However, how Polyphony plans on meeting its targeted release date is anybody’s guess- especially since by their own admission during the reveal livestream, the development of the game so far is only 50% complete- meaning that the developers have just over half a year to create half a game. Somehow I don’t see that happening, but hey- I may be proven wrong here, right?

Assuming nothing of that nature happens, Gran Turismo Sport will launch exclusively on PS4 this November, worldwide.
