Granblue Fantasy Relink

The first few weeks of 2024 have been packed full of major new releases, and though Granblue Fantasy: Relink hasn’t set the world on fire with its critical reception, in terms of how many players it’s attracting, it’s certainly added its name to that list of early 2024 heavy-hitters.

Cygames long-in-development action RPG launched just recently, and upon release, as per SteamDB, it hit a peak of nearly 74,000 concurrent users on Steam- 73,949, to be precise. To put that in context, the peak for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, which launched last week, was 46,161 concurrent players, while the peak for Persona 3 Reload, which released today, is currently 42,112 players- both successful, acclaimed, recently-released RPGs.

In fact, Granblue Fantasy: Relink’s concurrent user count peak on Steam is the fifth-highest to date for a Japanese-developed RPG on the platform, behind Monster Hunter World (334,684), Monster Hunter Rise (231,360), Final Fantasy 14 (95,150), and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty (75,906).

In our review of Granblue Fantasy: Relink, we gave it a score of 7/10, saying, “Granblue Fantasy: Relink’s plot falters in several ways despite some impressive combat, bosses and gorgeous visuals. Nevertheless, it’s a solid holdover for action RPG fans who don’t mind grinding.” Read the full review through here.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink is available on PS5, PS4, and PC.
