Grand Theft Auto 4 Sales Jump More Than 7000% After Getting Xbox One Backwards Compatibility

Amazon has seen the biggest sales jump.

It shouldn’t surprise anyone that now that Grand Theft Auto 4 is playable on the Xbox One, thanks to backward compatibility, the game is having a resurgence in sales. What is a bit surprising is just how big the resurgence has been so far.

GTA 4 has seen sales jump more than 7,000 percent in the last couple of days. In other words, the game is doing in sales, especially on Amazon.com exactly what Microsoft hoped games would do when they were offered in the backward compatibility program.

The game now ranks as a best seller on the retail giant website. This is hardly the first time a Xbox 360 has seen an explosion in sales when it was available on the Xbox One. Most recently, Red Dead Redemption saw a massive explosion in sales when it first became available. Still, those sales didn’t really compete with what Grand Theft Auto 4 saw.
