All I want to do is play games and not end up poor because of that.

I’m lucky enough to play my games on a high end gaming PC, this affords me certain benefits in games like extra features and increased fidelity, generally across the board. More often than not, PC games are also generally cheaper than their console counter parts, that is however, not the case for Grand Theft Auto 5 if you live in India.

Last night, the retailing prices for GTA V went live on Games The Shop, listing the game at INR 2499. That’s around $41 and £25 here in Ireland. Granted, that’s still rather low in some parts of the world but in India it’s a rather steep pricing bracket for a game, costing nearly as much as it’s 8th gen console counter parts.

Certain retailers are rather surprised by the games pricing, and we’re not quite sure why the game is so strangely priced, but we can only hope it’s an error and is soon rectified. But this is wishful thinking at best. We recently reported that the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game will be priced at 3499 INR which makes the PC version as expensive as its console counterparts.
