After a few weeks of persistent leaks and rumours, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was finally formally unveiled last week, confirming that Rockstar will indeed be bringing modernized and remastered versions of GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas to modern consoles later this year.
Of course, the announcement was a brief one, and there was a lot that it didn’t reveal about the collection- like what’ll its price be across different platforms? That’s a detail that may have now leaked out as well. As per listings spotted on online retailer Base (via @Okami13_ on Twitter), GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will cost the full $70 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, and the regular $60 on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Price doesn’t necessarily have to be indicative of what sort of a product we’re looking at, but hopefully this means that the remasters won’t just be conservative touched up versions of the game and will sport more significant improvements and changes.
With the collection due out some time later this year, we’ll likely be learning more about how much it will cost from Rockstar itself soon enough. Stay tuned until then for more details.
It appears the GTA Trilogy is going to cost the full $70 on current gen, $60 on last gen.
Hope to see some significant enhancements for that price. pic.twitter.com/yv0pwAP3gf
