Gravity Rush 2 and PS4 Top Sales Charts In Japan In latest Media Create Report

A strong showing on the PlayStation front.

Posted By | On 25th, Jan. 2017

The latest Media Create sales report is out, and it looks like PlayStation came in on top all around this week. Sony’s Gravity Rush 2 topped software charts, with almost 75,000 units sold. It was first place by considerable margin, since the next title on the charts, Nintendo’s Poochy and Yoshi’s Wooly World (another new release, and the 3DS port of the gorgeous Wii U exclusive platformer) came in second with under 40,000 units sold.

On the hardware front, it was basically the same story- the PS4 came in ahead of everything else, 33,000 units sold. As always, the PS4 Pro underperformed, with less than a fourth of the PS4 systems sold being PS4 Pro units. The Nintendo 3DS came in second, with 26,000 units sold.

Apart from that, perennial chart performers such as Pokemon Sun/Moon, Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS, Final Fantasy 15Yokai Watch 3, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf continued to chart strongly this week.

It’s good to see a healthy Japanese market again.
