Here’s something strange: Codemasters has announced that GRID is releasing in September 2019. No, this isn’t a remaster of the 2008 racer for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Instead, it’s being described as an “all-new experience”. Check out the reveal trailer below, courtesy of IGN, and see for yourself.
GRID is actually a franchise reboot, but will have the same gameplay philosophy of choosing one’s own path. Players will once again venture into the GRID World Series and race with a variety of vehicles. “Current and classic” cars with types like GT, Touring, Muscle, Stock, and Super Modified are also promised.
While we need to wait and see what kind of “iconic locations” will feature as tracks, GRID is focusing on the pulse-pounding action that defined the franchise (along with rivalries and nemeses). The title will be releasing for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on September 13th. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months, especially with regards to improvements over the previous games.
