While we patiently wait for any new…news on whether or not that is ever going to be confirmation about story-based DLC for Grand Theft Auto 5, we can still entertain ourselves with a plethora of mods that give the game a whole new look. We’ve talked at length about the number of different looks the game can get with the right GTA 5 mod on the PC. One of the newest mods that have just been shown off is one that will actually allow you to bring a world that looks a lot like The Last of Us.
While the world of GTA 5 is one of those that is almost universally recognizable thanks to the buildings, streets and cars and their darn near photorealistic art style,. The Last of Us certainly has an art style and look that is likely even more recognizable than GTA 5. That’s perhaps why it was so easy to come up with a mod that brought the look of the world to Grand Theft Auto 5. Of course, it isn’t actually that easy to bring a whole other video game world to another.
It took one modder known as Rapidiment’s After Us Rodeo map and another modder known as GTAFREAk67S to bring his Joel model into the game. Then the YouTuber taltigolt put a video together showing how the two video game worlds have actually been put together and made to look quite cool. Check out the video below of The Last of Us world brought to GTA 5, even if there aren’t the monsters we know from Joel and Ellie’s travels.
