Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has been touting mostly famous (and infamous characters) for their upcoming MOBA-style and LOTR-inspired Guardians of Middle-earth but the new Battle Profile video mixes that up a bit by showcasing some new characters.

One of those is father of Thorin Oakenshield, Thrain II, exiled from the Lonely Mountain by the dragon Smaug. Thrain is billed as a powerful warrior who can engage and hold off a number of enemies at once.

Then there’s Gothmog, a lieutenant of the Witch-king’s armies, who has a strong endurance and constitution. He poses a significant threat to sieges, as he can fight his way to the enemies despite their defenses.

Guardians of Middle Earth will feature over 20 such guardians however, in case you want to stick to series mainstays like Gandalf and Sauron. It’s currently billed for a December 4th release on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 via Xbox Live and Playstation Network respectively.
