No, Valve Software’s Half Life 3 hasn’t been announced. No, there seems to be no indicator that it will ever be announced. But yes, fans are still waiting and their enthusiasm for the game is still as strong as ever, to the point where mock-up screenshots for the main menu are now being created. Check out one Reddit user’s idea of what the main menu for Half Life 3 could look like above.
The ship in the background is the oft-rumoured Borealis, a ship that was referenced in Half Life 2: Episode 2 as having suddenly reappeared after a long absence (and which is property of Aperture Science, the same labs that created the Portal gun and which formed the setting for the series). The main menu reminds us of Half Life 2’s menu interface which showed the background of the level you last saved in.
