Half Life Remake Black Mesa Teases Mysterious Countdown

Could the Half Life remake see the release of its second part?

Remember Black Mesa, the remake of the first Half Life made using Source Engine and which received rave reviews? The project has been on the down-low since the first part released in September 2012 and there’s been hardly any information on the continuation.

However, the Black Mesa site has been updated and re-directs to a new mysterious countdown site. You can check it out here. The site’s numbers indicate days, hours and minutes and seem to be counting down to May 5th. What does it mean? Well, it’s certainly related to Half-Life – watch the background long enough and you’ll see flashes of the G-Man appear every now and again.

Perhaps the second part for Black Mesa will be arriving sometime in the coming months? Given that the project is handled by a volunteer group and it has been more than two years, it would make sense for an announcement to be arriving this late. Regardless, stay tuned for more information in the coming days.
