I think we've seen enough of these guys over the years

We all love  Chief, but sooner or later, it gets quite ennui inducing to have the same bloke toting about weapons to different places. Halo 2 was fun, and one of the reasons for it was that the game introduced a different playable character, if for a rather short while only. But it did deliver what the developers had intended to, and something that gamers may have been expecting even if the idea may not have been voiced until then.

The subsequent Halo games became a tad hackneyed with the one person approach. Halo 5 could do well by introducing additional characters, but of course not too many. This would lend the game a little dynamism and could very well work in the favour of the storyline.
