We’ve known for a while that the Warzone Map for Halo 5: Guardians is going to be as big as any multiplayer map as we’ve seen in this particular series. When there is content this big, it stands to reason that there are going to be more perks to go along with that massive number of content. Some of those perks had a little more light shed on them in the form of new medals that can be earned by people playing through the mode.

A new posting on the Halo Waypoint website sheds some light on some of the new medals including the ability to earn, Boss Takedown and Legendary Takedown Medals for eliminating Bosses, AI Kill and Assist Medals such as Grunt Kill, Elite Kill, and Knight Kill for killing non-Boss Minions, Base Capture and Base Defense Medals for capturing and defending bases and Vehicle Destruction and Assist Medals such as Warthog Destroyed, Scorpion Destroyed, and Phaeton Destroyed.

When it comes to the bosses medals, 343 is allowing these particular accomplishments because they have also souped up a certain kind of enemy. Bosses are indeed some of the biggest and baddest enemies Halo 5 players can face. According to mission designer David Ellis, these bosses will wander onto the playing field at various points in the game with the express intent of “melting your helmet.” He added that “Bosses come from a variety of enemy factions, and at first glance they may seem familiar, but expect a bigger challenge than you might expect.”

In addition, these bosses will come with a new kind of AI minion that will fight alongside them and defend bases. Taking these minions down will give players REQ points at an incremental level. The company says that while the raise is small for taking out these minions, they’ll add up.  Halo 5: Guardians is launching exclusively for the Xbox One on October 27, 2015.
