Halo 5 New Hotfix Should Free Up Some Hard Drive Space For You

That's a good update, right there.

Posted By | On 09th, Nov. 2017

The one thing that has been absolutely ridiculous on the Xbox One- especially with Microsoft’s own games- this generation is the issue of file sizes and storage space. Even before the ludicrous downloads for the 4K patches for Xbox One X enhancements for games, file sizes for Microsoft’s own titles were bordering on ridiculous.

343 Industries, at least, seems to be working on addressing this problem the best it can. A new hotfix for Halo 5: Guardians was released today, which includes some optimizations to the code. The end result of this? You should be able to reclaim some hard drive space that Halo 5 originally took up. Actually, you should be able to reclaim an impressive 10GB of space. Which is nothing to sneeze at.

Hopefully, these kins of updates also come in for other Microsoft games on Xbox One- because as the situation stands right now, these file sizes for their games are absolutely absurd.
