Microsoft Games Studios corporate VP Phil Spencer has confirmed that Halo will be at this year’s E3 in June, with plans for the franchise to be revealed at the expo.

Responding to a fan on Twitter, Spencer said that, “Halo news will be coming at E3. 343 Industries has a great plan in place, will be cool to share with everyone.”

The developer teased a Halo game last year for the Xbox One and while many of us assumed it was Halo 5, Microsoft denied the same. That’s not to say the game isn’t in development – in fact, recent rumours have pegged it for a 2015 release.

Instead, 343 Industries will be working to bring out Halo 2 Anniversary this year for fans, again according to rumours. A recent PR manager did indicate that we’d begin our Halo journey this year – will it be via Halo 2 Anniversary? Stay tuned for the long road to E3 2014 to find out more.
