The Hong Kong Massacre

John Woo-inspired, slow-mo-happy overhead shooter The Hong Kong Massacre is now available for PS4 and PC. Developed and published by VRESKI, you play as a former police detective seeking vengeance for his partner’s murder. The underworld is also involved. Lock and load.

Of course, much like Hotline Miami, you can’t just fight enemies head-on. One shot is all it takes to kill you. A slow-motion ability, limited though it may be, is provided, along with tons of firepower. Pay careful attention to your surroundings, dodge accordingly, and use the environment to your advantage to win heated gun fights.

The Hong Kong Massacre’s aesthetic embodies the stylish grunge of classic action films, and the entire city (including the rooftops) becomes your battleground. A number of challenges also await in each level, which provide new weapons throughout the campaign. Those picking up the game on Steam can avail of a 10 percent discount until January 28th – head here for more details.
