Harry Potter Wizards UniteRelease Window Confirmed By Niantic

They also confirm they are better prepared now than they were with Pokemon GO.

Harry Potter Wizards Unite is going to be the Pokemon GO styled AR mobile game based on the magical world of Harry Potter– and given how big Pokemon GO was, and the enduring worldwide popularity of Harry Potter, this one promises to be seriously big- whenever it is out.

As for when it is out, that has been a total mystery to us- until now. Now, at least, we have slightly more clarity of when to expect the new game. Speaking to Financial Times, Niantic CEO John Hanke said that the developer is eyeing a release in the second half of 2018 for the game.

He also confirmed that the controversies that surrounded Pokemon GO‘s launch- which include not just the various server issues the game was plagued by, but also people flouting laws and regulations, and trespassing on private property, as they played the game- will hopefully be something Niantic is better prepared for this time, thanks to their experience with Pokemon GO.

So, wizards- get ready. You’ll be picking up your wands sooner rather than later, it seems.
