Marvel Heroes Omega was a rocky hybrid of an MMO and the Ultimate Alliance series from the word go, and an experiment which would end sooner than anyone expected when Disney and developer Gazillion would have a messy split which would see the game shut down across all platforms over a month ahead of schedule.
The sudden closer of the game left many of its most ardent players a little bit hooped for the DLC they had recently dropped real world money on, and understandably upset. Microsoft has now outlined how they’re going to make it right to their platform users, while Sony has a similar strategy on the way they haven’t outlined it yet.
The tl;dr of the official Microsoft Statement is that if players purchased content from the Microsoft Store between October 31-November 29, 2017, the refund will return directly to your original payment method without fuss. If the purchase fell between September 1-October 30, 2017, then store credit will be applied to the account. They also say that players should check in with Microsoft Support themselves if they haven’t seen anything by January 31, 2017.
It’s definitely good to see Microsoft take the initiative on this.
