Regardless of what one thinks of Director Hideo Kojima, the man is a workhorse. He left Konami, formed his own studio and had a fully functionally game release in record time (though, to be fair, with a lot of help from Sony). It seems there’s no real rest for the wicked either, as the man is already thinking about what he’ll be working on in 2020.
In a series of Twitter posts, he wishes us all a Happy New Year and mulls over what he’ll be working on in 2020. He says that with things like streaming and AI he sees the entertainment industry being a radically different place in 10 years, and hopes to use 2020 as a time to create something around these new mediums.
While there’s been vague talks of sequel ideas for Kojima’s latest, Death Stranding, it doesn’t seem to be on the top of the list as of now. Kojima’s titles have always been pretty in-tune with current events, sometimes even eerily so. Whatever the man comes up with, it’s sure not to be a boring affair either way.
Happy New Year. Hope you’ll have a wonderful year in 2020.
After I made the 1st footstep with DEATH STRANDING last year, I would like to make another 1st and 2nd footstep this year. Hoping those trajectory will create the path. pic.twitter.com/eRs7ntesij— HIDEO_KOJIMA (@HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN) December 31, 2019
We’ll have Tokyo Olympic in the year of 2020, and also the extreme change in entertainment industry will come in next 10 years with the arrival of the streaming and AI. I’d like to create something related to such new media and totally brand new entertainment for the tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/z0F3ClTzVt
