Highguard’s Official Website is Unavailable as Shutdown Fears Loom

The controversial PvP raid shooter could be nearing the end following rock-bottom player counts and extensive lay-offs at Wildlight.

Highguard - website unavailable

If you’ve been following Wildlight Entertainment’s Highguard, you’ll know that it hasn’t been doing too great since…well, since its reveal. While it topped almost 98,000 peak concurrent Steam players at launch, it’s barely been able to crack 3,000 over the past several days.

Following lay-offs at the studio with a “core team” left to work on the title, there’s more evidence that the PvP raid shooter isn’t long for this world as its official website is turning up as “unavailable.” This has apparently been the case for at least the entirety of today, and Wildlight hasn’t offered any comment. The last official tweet was regarding a new patch that went live on February 12th.

Granted, this could be due to several reasons; it’s just that, considering everything else, it doesn’t look good. Highguard itself is still up and running, regardless of the low player count. But even if this is a technical error and nothing more, you have to wonder if Wildlight can truly stick it out and deliver on its promised roadmap.
