Hitman Dev Will Reveal “Brand New Content” on October 24th

And no, this is not Season 2 so "keep expectations in check" says IO Interactive.

Following Square Enix relinquishing the studio and IO Interactive retaining the rights to the Hitman franchise, the latter has announced that brand new content is on the way. This applies to the episodic Hitman which released in 2016 and was pegged to receive a second season.

The new content will be revealed on October 24th but IO Interactive made sure to clarify that the new content was not “Season 2.” “We’re saying that now to keep expectations in check,” said community manager Travis.

One does have to wonder what could be in store – is it a new episode for the current season? Perhaps some new activities or Contracts? Maybe even a tougher difficulty mode? We’re looking forward to finding out, especially with how the game has been supported till now (ten new featured Contracts are out on October 13th, for instance).

Hitman received a lot of flak when it first launched due to being always online but would later be praised for its sandbox levels that promoted numerous solutions. Stay tuned for more information on the new content in the coming weeks.
