HMV use fake fan-made image in 3DS XL advert

Posted By | On 17th, Jul. 2012

A HMV shop in Cardiff has been inadvertently advertising the upcoming Nintendo 3DS XL as having a second circle pad.
Nintendo enthusiastic and gamer ‘Warerare’ spotted the erroneous ads when visiting his local HMV, sending in photo evidence of their mishap to GoNintendo.

The image in question has been floating around for a while, photoshopped by a dissatisfied gamer in an attempt at what he thought the original 3DS should look like, so even the general design of the handheld console is inaccurate.

The 3DS XL in fact looks like this, and it seems this error is only specific to the Cardiff outlet as the material was put together by its staff.
