The action RPG Hogwarts Legacy was finally announced last year after a couple of years of leaks and rumours. Being developed by Avalanche Software and to be published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment under their new Portkey Games label, the game was announced with a 2021 launch window. As many have predicted though, the game’s now been delayed.
Taking to Twitter, the game’s publisher announced that Hogwarts Legacy will now be releasing in 2022, as it looks to give the project the development time it needs to be the best game it possibly can be. “Creating the best possible experience for all of the Wizarding World and gaming fans is paramount to us so we are giving the game the time it needs,” the announcement reads.
Hogwarts Legacy will see players stepping into the shoes of a student attending the wizarding school in the late 1800s, a century before the events of the Harry Potter series. Whenever the game launches, it will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
