Another fallout of the XBL/PSN outage.

This Christmas, the scummy folks at Lizard Squad decided to ruin a lot of people’s holidays when they decided to take the Playstation Network and Xbox Live online services down offline by launching a mounted DDoS attack on them. And yes, that was certainly inconvenient for the end user, who probably wanted nothing more than playing their new console, and the games on it, but couldn’t, because of the services being offline.

But it also seems to have inconvenienced the publishers, as many of their online plans were derailed. For instance, consider EA and Bioware’s Dragon Age: Inquisition- it appears that the holiday weekend multiplayer event that was supposed to take place for Inquisition was also affected by this network outage, and that EA and Bioware are now rescheduling it, planning to hold it again later at some date.

It must be a logistical nightmare for them, so good on them for seeing it through any way. And let’s hope that both, PSN and Xbox Live, now stay up and online.
