We’ve been starved for Hollow Knight: Silksong news for what’s felt like an eternity, but several recent developments have indicated that that could be changing soon. Earlier this month, the game’s official Xbox Store page went live, which was accompanied by ratings by the ESRB in North America and the GRAC in South Korea.

Now, another classification rating has joined that list, with the highly anticipated Metroidvania action-adventure sequel having been rated in Australia. Age ratings for titles generally tend to happen when they’re approaching launch and they are in a state that is representative of the final product that audiences will purchase.

Whether this means developer Team Cherry will soon finally announce a concrete release date for Hollow Knight: Silksong remains to be seen, but that’s certainly the hope. We are, of course, approaching the time of year where major Summer showcases will be taking place, from the Xbox Games Showcase and Summer Game Fest to a rumoured PlayStation Showcase and more, so perhaps a Silksong update is on the horizon.

Whenever it launches, Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It will also be available via Game Pass at launch.
