Dennaton’s Hotline Miami is known for its for its extreme violence and explicit subject matter but the sequel Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number takes it to a whole new level. This has resulted in the game being banned in Australia, failing to meet even an R18+ rating.
The Classification Board noted that, “The computer game is classified RC in accordance with the National Classification Code, Computer Games Table, 1. (a) as computer games that ‘depict, express or otherwise deal with matters of sex, drug misuse or addiction, crime, cruelty, violence or revolting or abhorrent phenomena in such a way that they offend against the standards of morality, decency and propriety generally accepted by reasonable adults to the extent that they should not be classified.’”
The exact reason for the refusal? Sexual violence, according to a report obtained by Kotaku Australia. You can read the details there but discretion is advised.
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is out in Q1 2015 for PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Linux, Mac and PC. Looking forward to it? Let us know in the comments.
