The MSI motherboard we selected supports FM2/FM2+ socket motherboards. Thus, accordingly you can opt for a processor the likes of the AMD Athlon X4 AD750KWOHJBOX priced at a decent $80, which is a quad core CPU humming at a maximum of 4.0Ghz which is more than enough to handle modern games.
There have been some reported heating issues with this processor but it does not pose a problem unless you’re overclocking it, have messed up airflow or are running your PC in the Sahara at noon. A dual core processor nowadays is not recommended since most games now are capable of utilising the multi core architecture of modern CPUs. The Athlon X4 thus makes for a decent choice in this regard.
