“I’m just dying to see” the Wii U- Cliff Bleszinski

Posted By | On 11th, Jul. 2011

Gears of War creator and Epic Games designer, Cliff Bleszinski says those who think the Wii U won’t be good will buy it anyway. He too is really looking forward to the system.

“From what I’ve seen, it looks pretty cool,” said Bleszinski while talking to IndustryGamer. “But, you know, from what people are saying online, they’re like, ‘Oh, it’s just a DreamCast, whatever.’ But it’s like, ‘Dude, what’s old is new sometimes.’”

He also gave several examples of past things that did not work very well, but future systems with the same technology turned out to be wonderful. “The Power Glove led to the Wii, right? The Virtual Boy led to the 3DS, right? A lot of these older technologies that you forget about are [the technological predecessors]. The Kinect is a sophisticated webcam, right?”

About those who’ve been hating on the Wii U, Bleszinski said, “So I’m just dying to see it. It’s Nintendo. I’ll buy it. I know I’ll buy it. They’ll talk shit but they’ll buy it.”
