Naughty Dog's next big PlayStation 5 exclusive is reportedly quite a ways off from release, per Bloomberg's Jason Schreier.
Naughty Dog's sci-fi action-adventure epic will allegedly see players uncovering the history of the mysterious planet Sempiria.
Naughty Dog's Intergalactic will be its game in a while where players won't have an ally to rely on throughout the adventure.
Naughty Dog has been developing the upcoming Intergalactic since 2020, and has had more than 250 developers working on the project.
The game is set in an alternate version of our universe, where space travel saw significant advancements starting in 1986.
Directed by Neil Druckmann and starring Tati Gabrielle as the protagonist, Naughty Dog's next title has been in development since 2020.
Raf Grassetti, who worked on God of War (2018) and its 2022 follow-up, left SIE Santa Monica Studio in May last year.
The prolific actor who played Joel Miller and Sam Drake in the Uncharted and The Last of Us games will return in Naughty Dog's next project as well.
"I've been lucky to work on several dream projects and am currently excited about a new one, which is perhaps the most thrilling yet," Druckmann says about his next directorial project.
"It’s really ambitious, parts of it are really hard. But I’ve really kind of surrendered to knowing it’s going to be really hard," Druckmann says.
A recent trademark filing might be our first glimpse at an upcoming, unannounced sci-fi PlayStation IP.
Illuminator and story artist Colin Lorimer's LinkedIn page states he is "currently helping develop Naughty Dog's latest IP."
Leaks have previously claimed that The Last of Us Part 3 is in development, while there have also been suggestions that the studio is working on a new IP.
