Japan Gets The Second Persona 3 Movie in June

Will this one be less shitty?

Atlus’s Persona 3 was a revolution.

Not only was it the first breakout mainstream hit the venerable company had had, it also completely reinvented the JRPG genre, and the Persona series as well. Atlus naturally decided to spin it out into as many cross media properties and tie ins as possible. One of these was a (thankfully) non canon anime movie, Persona: Trinity Souls. A movie so terrible, it’s best not talked about.

Well, now that movie is getting a sequel- the second Persona 3 movie, Persona 3: A Midsummer Knight’s Dream (gotta admit, as an English major, that title gave me a hearty chuckle), will be hitting Japanese theaters on June 7 this year. If you understand Japanese and/or have played Persona 3, you can check the trailer out above to see what you think yourself.

I have one of two hopes: either that this one will actually be good. Or if it’s not, it never releases here. Leave my memories of the glory that was Persona 3 untouched please.
