Kaz Hirai is no longer Sony Computer Entertainment chairman

Posted By | On 27th, Jun. 2012

Kazuo Hirai, president and CEO of Sony, has stepped down as Sony Computer Entertainment chairman. It has been a long and prestigious period for Kaz Hirai at SCE, and it is basically because of that division why he rose through the ranks and assumed the highest post at Sony.

SCE has also revealed new appointments in the department, which you can check out here. Hiroshi Kawano has retained the position of president of SCE Japan, and he will be there at this year’s Tokyo Game Show event. Kazuo Hirai, however, is still a part-time member of the board.

This news isn’t ominous for SCE, as being the president and CEO of the whole company still means the same thing. The appointments are effective from June 25th 2012.
