The concept of playing a game where we hold comically large keys and swing them around in lieu of swords must surely seem silly to the people not “in the know”, but it’s something that’s become ingrained with us over the course of more than a decade, thanks to the Kingdom Hearts games. With Kingdom Hearts 3, the conclusion and culmination of the saga now almost (finally) upon us, excitement surrounding the release is sky-high (to put it mildly), and we’re latching on to anything even remotely interesting related to it in the build up to its launch.

Such as this new artwork shared by the official Twitter page of Kingdom Hearts. In 10 new images shared by the page, we get to see various Keyblades. While the iconic classic Kingdom Key Keyblade, is surely familiar to fans, there are several new designs in there as well. Keyblades specific to the many worlds of the game that we will be visiting, from Frozen, Big Hero 6, and Toy Story, to Tangled, Monsters Inc., Pirates of the Caribbean, and others are also displayed, and they’re looking predictably amazing. Take a look below.

Meanwhile, in related news, Kingdom Hearts 3 director Tetsuya Nomura has recently been talking about how important the inclusion of Pixar worlds in the upcoming RPG was to him, even personally, and how having to switch engines midway through development has impacted the game. Read about both stories through the links. Kingdom Hearts 3 launches for the PS4 and Xbox One on January 29.
