If you are a long time Kingdom Hears fan, you were, perhaps, pleasantly surprised, and also a fair bit intrigued, when you saw the Nobodies in the recent Kingdom Hearts 3 footage. They are intended to play a major role in the game’s story, the development team has revealed- and there may be more enemies in the game than just Nobodies and the Heartless.

“I want to make it so that you can tell who had come to that world by the enemies that appear there,” Tetsuya Nomura, the game’s director, said in a recent fan Q&A. “I am thinking of the enemy types as a part of the total production this time.”

As for what role they may potentially play in the game? Nomura says that “I think that it’s easy to imagine but I do believe that it will appear in promotional materials sooner or later so please wait for that.” Kingdom Hearts 3 is set to launch on the PS4 and Xbox One, though we don’t yet have a release date.
