Kingdom Hearts 3 Falls To Number 7, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Falls To Number 2 In Latest Famitsu List

The Top 10 gets a hefty shake up this week.

Posted By | On 01st, Jan. 2017

The last time we saw the chart, Final Fantasy 7 Remake has replaced its perennial predecessor Final Fantasy 15 at the top of the Famitsu Most Wanted polls. This week, however, it falls to second place, as Square Enix’s own Dragon Quest 11– the PS4 version. Dragon Quest 11‘s 3DS version also fares mostly well for itself, coming in at fourth place.

It is, however, beaten to the top three by Capcom’s Monster Hunter XX for 3DS, which leapfrogged all other games for a direct entry to the top three. Another Capcom game, Resident Evil 7, rounds out the Top 5. Super Robot Wars V is number 6, Kingdom Hearts 3 is 7, with Nioh, NieR Automata, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild‘s Switch version rounding out the Top 10.

Of course, Japan is head over heels crazy for Dragon Quest and Monster Hunter, so seeing them at the top should not surprise anybody. But Square Enix are probably worried about diffusing hype for Kingdom Hearts 3– they will probably find themselves hoping that Nomura’s team can get the game out this year.
