Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, And Persona 5- Latest Famitsu Most Wanted Ranks Revealed

The games on which the hopes of the entire Japanese gaming market rest.

The Famitsu Most Wanted charts for this week aren’t too different from last week- we have, mostly, the same games figuring in the Top 10, and even mostly keeping their same positions, consolidating their rank on the chart. Final Fantasy 15 still has a thorough and massive lead over every other game on the list, while Atlus’ upcoming Persona 5, due out on September 15, comes in at number 2.

The 3DS and PS4 versions of Dragon Quest 11 come in at 3 and 4 respectively, with Pokemon Sun/Moon rounding out the Top 5. Final Fantasy 7 Remake finds itself knocked out of the top 5, coming in at 6- meanwhile, Kingdom Hearts 3 manages to eke in a tenth place finish, with just a few points placing it over Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which is in 11th place this week.

Given that these games are due out in the coming weeks and months, it will be interesting to see how the Japanese market, currently in a massive state of contraction outside of the 3DS, responds to them. Tales of Berseria, which was featuring pretty prominently on this list prior to its release a couple of weeks ago, failed to do much- but maybe bigger names like Final Fantasy, Persona, and Pokemon can make more of an impact.
