We didn’t hear all that much about Kingdom Hearts 3 this year, which is the same year that Final Fantasy 15 came out so we’re not all that picky. However, what’s currently going on with the long-awaited action adventure RPG?
Dengeki PlayStation had a chance to speak to director Tetsuya Nomura and KH Insider picked up all the details from the publication.
Essentially, progress on the sequel is not being impeded by remasters of past games and there’s a good amount of staff on hand. All the character models are currently being reworked but things are progressing forward. In fact, the timing for new information to be announced is coming along as well.
Nomura also noted that though the system would be different from past games, a “PS4 quality KH” is possible right now. Lighting is being worked on with the help of Visual Works and there’s a fair bit of experimentation going. As for the Situation Commands, which improve on the Reaction Commands from Kingdom Hearts 2, they’re become an integral part of the game. Currently, the team is working on how to display these commands so that they aren’t just your QTE.
