Kingdom Hearts 2.8

Over the last few months, fans may have noticed that new information about Kingdom Hearts 3 has slowed down to a trickle, as Square Enix have shifted all of their focus to Final Fantasy 15, and, as far as Kingdom Hearts goes, to Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD.

And while fans may be frustrated that information about the next major entry in the franchise, the one that they have been waiting for for a decade, is being held back in favor of information about a remaster. However, in an interview with with Dengeki PlayStation, series director Tetsuya Nomura confirmed that information for Kingdom Hearts 3 is currently being held back in favor of information about 2.8 HD. He asked fans to be patient, and confirming that the timing for the announcement of new information on Kingdom Hearts 3 is currently under consideration.

In the same interview, he also confirmed that Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD will be indeed support 4K on PS4 Pro, though whether or not that 4K support will be native was not clarified. Kingdom Hearts 3 is due out some time in 2017. Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD will be out later this year.
